There are many ways to do the layout of the kitchen according to the space and requirement of the user. The work triangle in the kitchen plays important role in the effortless and smooth working in the kitchen. No leg of the triangle should be less than 4 feet (1.2 m) or more than 9 feet (2.7 m).
We have 5 ways to design the layout of the kitchen and they are as followings.

  • U shape
  • Island

These are almost always exclusively made for apartments, and open plan homes. The biggest advantage of single wall kitchen design, is the superior utilization of space. These are best suited to smaller apartments, where there is limited work area available.

In this type of kitchen all the three things the hob, sink and the fridge are placed in linear arrangement.

L SHAPE

L shaped kitchen are mostly used in small space but provides adequate space and looks to the kitchen. This type of kitchen are the open kitchen gives you enough space for the movement while working in the kitchen. You can even add an island in the centre of the kitchen as per your requirement and space availability.

U SHAPE

U shaped kitchen are great for the big spaces and more storage units. This kind of kitchen layout is for big space kitchen but we can even use this for small kitchen. But keep in mind that in case of small kitchen the minimum space between the opposite banks of units should be 2 meters.

Island kitchen is the most user friendly kitchen as per the basic needs of the user. Island kitchen is the most recommended kitchen layout if you have good space for the kitchen. Island kitchen increases the functionality and efficiency. One of the most beneficial thing about the island kitchen is visual anchor which means the person working can feel connected to the rest of the house as well. In island kitchen you can get the seating space for a little cooking and eating session.

PARALLEL OR GALLEY KITCHEN

Parallel kitchen are most efficient and are good for the closed kitchen. In parallel kitchen counters are placed on opposite walls. The space in parallel kitchen is well segregated. A parallel kitchen allows you to keep all your kitchen appliances which needs dry and moisture free area on one side and separates the wash basin and other water involving works on the opposite end. Parallel Kitchens are much like U-Shaped kitchen and is very comfortable to work in even when two or more people are present inside.
